Nurse Practitioner

We are looking for a Nurse practitioner to join the division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine at WHMC. The NP will work on a team with other medical professionals at their designated locations. The ideal candidate will:
- Consult patients with the GI Physicians to understand their health concerns and perform specialized tests to diagnose and treat patients for both inpatient and outpatient services.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation.
- Provide patient education on various gastrointestinal conditions and promote preventive measures.
- Document patient encounters, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, using medical record systems.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- A minimum of 5 years acute inpatient experience
- NY Nurse Practitioner License
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, master level
- DEA License
- 3 years of experience in gastroenterology (preferred) or at least 3 years as an Adult/ Family Nurse Practitioner
- Current BLS & ACLS certification
- Bilingual Spanish (preferred)
Full - Time (Regular)
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
