Material Handler/ Forklift Operator

Job Title: Material Handler Job Description

The role of a Material Handler involves managing cycle counts, entering data, operating forklifts, and using saw operators in a warehouse and production environment. Safety is the top priority in all activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cycle counts and ensure accurate data entry.

• Operate forklifts and saws efficiently and safely.

• Utilize computer systems for inventory management.

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

• Ensure adherence to safety protocols at all times.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in forklift operation.

• Background in warehouse operations.

• Strong computer knowledge and math skills, including ruler use.

• Experience in material handling and inventory control.

• Ability to perform cycle counting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Minimum of 1+ years experience in a warehouse or production setting, preferably in a metals or manufacturing facility.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience with sit down forklifts, pallet jacks, and order picking.

Work Environment

Work in a bustling warehouse and production facility with high expectations for production numbers and efficiency. The facility hosts 150-160 full-time employees, providing a community-driven atmosphere. Dress code includes jeans, t-shirts, steel-toed shoes, and PPE provided by the employer. Shifts are available in three rotations: 1st shift from 6am-2pm, 2nd shift from 2pm-10pm, and 3rd shift from 10pm-6am.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.20 - $20.20/hr.
