What You'll Do as a DSP

As a Direct Support Professional, you'll play a key role in helping individuals with I/DD gain life skills, independence, and confidence. Your daily support helps people lead richer, more connected lives.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Building trusting relationships with the people you support
  • Helping individuals meet personal, social, and workplace goals
  • Supporting communication, self-advocacy, and community engagement
  • Providing guidance at job sites or during daily living tasks
  • Encouraging independence through positive reinforcement and skill-building
  • Collaborating with families, support staff, and professionals
  • Ensuring accurate documentation and health/safety monitoring
  • Embracing training and ongoing learning opportunities

What You Need to Join the Team
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass background and registry checks
  • Willingness to assist with personal care when needed
  • Physical ability to lift or assist clients (based on individual needs)
