Description
- Conduct thorough assessments for a diverse patient population, using a mix of standardized testing and observational methods.
- Create tailored treatment plans aimed not only at immediate goals but also at long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing challenges.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions concentrating on communication skills, language proficiency, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing mechanics.
- Engage collaboratively with other therapists, nursing staff, medical practitioners, caregivers, and families to develop all-encompassing care methodologies.
- Provide valuable education to patients and their families to facilitate progress even beyond therapy sessions.
- Participate in the assessment and intervention of inpatient speech therapy as needed, ensuring seamless care for each patient.
- Keep detailed and timely medical documentation that meets state, federal, and organization regulations.
- Remain abreast of innovative practices in the field through ongoing education and professional dialogue.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for ASHA certification if applicable.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic techniques for a wide age range, encompassing both developmental and acquired speech and language challenges.
