Role Responsibilities
  • Conduct evaluations for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments and observational techniques.
  • Craft personalized treatment plans that address immediate goals as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver dedicated one-on-one speech therapy interventions that emphasize communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to devise cohesive care strategies.
  • Provide education for patients and families to support progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Deliver occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure continuity of care throughout the treatment trajectory.
  • Keep precise and timely documentation in alignment with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
  • Engage in continued learning and peer collaboration to stay updated with advancements in the field.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications
  • Licensure in the state as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting.
Essential Skills
  • Strong proficiency in evidence-based treatment techniques for all age groups, with comprehensive knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Able to adapt therapy approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
