The News Revenue Hub is excited to invite a motivated Email Marketing Production Specialist to join our dynamic team of digital news professionals. If you are passionate about helping newsrooms thrive and have exceptional time management skills, this role is for you. Our consulting team is dedicated to advising various news organizations on strategies designed to expand audiences, develop innovative products, and establish sustainable membership programs.
As an Email Marketing Production Specialist, you will be instrumental in translating strategies and innovative ideas into real-world applications, providing essential support during pivotal moments. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Consulting and our Consulting and Success teams, delivering tactical support to Hub client newsrooms.
This is an exciting new role with an initial six-month contract, with strong potential for it to evolve into a full-time position. We are accepting applications until Friday, April 18, 2025, with a target start date by the end of May 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executing key production tasks related to Hub services, primarily utilizing Mailchimp and potentially other email service providers (ESPs) to build standalone emails and automations.
- Reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of email builds made by others, focusing on correct segmentation for optimal client outcomes.
- Creating and maintaining documentation to enhance internal knowledge and enable clients to develop their expertise.
- Managing multiple projects and client needs effectively, prioritizing based on urgency and scope.
- Collaborating with Consulting team members and colleagues across the organization to address customer service requests related to email as per client agreements.
- Building trust with Hub clients by delivering timely and precise support, communicating clearly, and understanding their unique needs.
- Sharing insights and challenges with colleagues to continuously adapt and improve services.
- Occasionally undertaking additional production work, such as report creation, in line with client needs.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Proven experience in email marketing, email production, or related fields that align with this role.
- Familiarity with multiple email service providers (ESPs), especially Mailchimp, Active Campaign, and Hubspot.
- Experience in executing and analyzing A/B tests for emails.
- Understanding key elements of email marketing for troubleshooting and client support, including deliverability and email analytics.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, with adaptability to new challenges.
- Self-motivated and self-managed, able to thrive in a remote work environment.
- Background in journalism or a passion for news is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS is advantageous.
- Copyediting skills are a plus.
Your Day-to-Day Work Will Include:
- Producing email-related content and automations crucial for Hub services, including standalone fundraising emails for clients.
- Handling customer support inquiries and delivering solutions in accordance with deadlines and service level agreements.
- Creating documentation to clarify processes for team members and new hires.
- Engaging with journalists, editors, and executives to facilitate project advancement.
- Collaborating with Hub colleagues to collectively serve our clients’ needs.
- Eventually training others in your areas of expertise, such as teaching clients how to build automations.
