Join our dedicated team at Albany Medical Center as a Clinical Nurse II in the Vascular Surgery department. This part-time role, requiring 22 hours a week, focuses on delivering compassionate and quality patient care. You will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating the care of patients with diverse needs, particularly those undergoing vascular procedures.
In the Vascular Surgery Unit, you will care for patients facing complex conditions, including fresh amputations and extensive vascular surgeries. Essential training will be provided in BLS, ACLS, Telemetry, wound care, Wound-Vacs, and central lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, initiate IVs, perform treatments and document accordingly.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
- Evaluate patient needs and responses to care and apply sound nursing judgment in decision-making.
- Provide primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop and maintain individualized Plans of Care.
- Guide and direct ancillary personnel while upholding nursing standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Preferred experience as a PCA or in a similar nursing assistance role.
- Commitment to continuous education and improvement in nursing practice.
- Understanding of quality concepts and ability to apply them for patient care excellence.
