Your Opportunity: Become a vital member of our dedicated Operating Room Team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin, providing innovative care to patients. With your skills, you can make a difference in the operating room every day

Schedule/Hours: Full-time, evening shifts with on-call requirements. Expect 8 or 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with the majority of on-call slots overnight (5-8) and 1-2 weekends within an 8-week schedule. Call hours may vary based on staffing, requiring arrival within 30 minutes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a clean and efficient surgical area, applying aseptic techniques during preparations.
  • Assist in various surgical procedures, maintaining knowledge across specialties.
  • Prepare and set up the operating room, handling equipment properly.
  • Act as a Second Assistant as needed and report equipment issues.
  • Transport patients and manage the specialty cart for completeness.
  • Provide safe patient positioning and transportation.
  • Demonstrate appropriate care knowledge based on age-specific needs.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required within 6 months of hire.

Education & Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program required.
  • No experience necessary; training provided.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques and operating room equipment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a high-stress and fast-paced environment.
  • Must lift up to 50 lbs., push/pull with 30 lbs. of force, and perform patient transfers.
  • Continuous exposure to mechanical, electrical, and biological hazards requiring appropriate personal protective equipment.
