Cost Accounting Manager

What You’ll Accomplish In this position, you will: Calculate and maintain the company’s inventory standards for raw materials, packaging and finished goods Calculate and record the capitalization of inventory variances – PPV/IPV, over/under absorption Analyze monthly variances to budget/forecast Investigate manufacturing related problems and variances, inventory transaction issues, and scrap & cycle count Organize complex data utilizing advanced Excel and database skills Represent accounting in cross-functional teams for process/systems implementations, new product launches, special projects Create and analyze performance metrics Ad hoc analysis Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and roll forwards Prepare journal entries for monthly financial statements. Ensure and record reasonable estimate of inventory obsolescence reserve Work directly with audit and tax firms related to inventory accounting Provide periodic reporting to outside parties, such as banks and government agencies Continuously improve / streamline / automate work processes, reports, and analyses #LI-MP1
