Schedule Details:

Join our dedicated Operating Room team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin known for its advanced heart care and innovative treatment options. Your role is vital in ensuring our surgical patients receive the highest quality of care.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain a clean and sterile environment for safe and efficient patient care.
  • Utilize aseptic surgical techniques while assisting with surgical procedures, including setup and instrument delivery.
  • Maintain operating room equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for all surgical cases.
  • Function effectively as a Second Assistant when required.
  • Transport patients and manage supplies efficiently within the operating room.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient care appropriate for varying age groups and needs.

Licensure and Education:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is necessary.

Experience: No prior experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and operating room equipment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Physical stamina to lift, carry, and push/pull patient care equipment as necessary.
  • Essential vision and hearing functions to maintain patient safety.
