The Role

We are seeking a visionary leader to shape the product strategy for Agent Security. As AI agents evolve in capability and autonomy, they present unique security challenges. In this role, you will establish a long-term vision for securing AI agents, ensuring they are safe, aligned, and resilient against emerging threats as we advance towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

As the principal product owner, you will strategize solutions for a spectrum of agent-related security threats, including Prompt Injection and Anti-Distillation. You will also define a comprehensive product roadmap, focusing on System Integrity and laying the groundwork for sustainable AGI control.

Your role will involve navigating intricate trade-offs among agent performance, research advancement, and security needs, while also influencing and aligning cross-functional leadership within Google.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and drive the multi-year vision and strategy for a range of Agent Security projects.
• Develop product definitions and strategies to counter various security threats, including prompt injection and adversarial misuse.
• Create a roadmap for scalable AGI Control, collaborating closely with leading research and safety teams at Google.
• Manage the full product lifecycle, from early-stage research to execution of extensive strategic initiatives.
• Ensure alignment and foster support from senior leadership across DeepMind and Google.
• Act as a thought leader on Agent Security and a subject matter expert within the organization.
• Lead impactful, cross-functional projects that bridge research and practical product implementation.

About You

To thrive as a Lead Product Manager at Google DeepMind, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of product management experience.
• A track record of taking complex technical products from concept to successful launch and achieving significant impact.
• In-depth technical knowledge in AI/ML and Cybersecurity.
• A proven ability to manage complex, long-term strategic initiatives that span research and product commercialization.
• Experience defining metrics and quantitative objectives for technically demanding challenges.
• Outstanding communication skills to present intricate technical matters to senior executives.
• A history of leading extensive, complex, cross-functional projects in ambiguous and innovative environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in AI Security, such as adversarial ML, red teaming, or developing secure infrastructures.
• Experience in software development or engineering roles.
• A demonstrated history of driving ambitious, multi-year projects from concept to execution.

The US base salary range for this position is between $183,000 - $271,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Your recruiter will provide more details on the specific salary range for your desired location during the hiring process.
