Surgery Oncology Physician Assistant

This vital role offers the opportunity to work within the reputable Allina Health Cancer Institute, recognized for excellence in clinical expertise, compassionate patient care, and innovative surgical oncology practices. Providing specialized hepatobiliary and pancreatic (HPB) surgical oncology services, you will deliver outpatient and inpatient care, collaborate with skilled surgeons, and support patients throughout their treatment journeys. This position is integral to ensuring seamless communication, top-tier treatment, and comprehensive patient support in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.

Required Skills:
  • MN Physician Assistant license (or eligibility) required for quick onboarding
  • Proven experience in surgical oncology, hepatobiliary/pancreatic specialties preferred
  • Ability to provide independent outpatient and inpatient care
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Familiarity with wound care, drain management, and assisting in surgical procedures
  • Capable of performing procedures such as wound and drain care
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience working within a high-volume cancer program
  • Additional certifications in oncology or surgical assistance
  • Proficiency with medical documentation and electronic health record systems
  • Bilingual abilities to support diverse patient populations
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Graduate degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in surgical oncology or related fields
  • Prior experience in hepatobiliary/pancreatic surgery highly advantageous
Other Requirements:
  • Valid MN medical license
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
  • Willingness to assist in the operating room when needed
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development initiatives

This position offers an attractive hourly pay rate of $129.68, with an 8-hour day shift from 07:30 to 16:00.
