Job Description:

Pay Range: $56.24hr - $61.24hr
  • The Mechanical Engineer will apply core mechanical engineering principles to address manufacturing issues related to hot gas path hardware in gas turbines.
  • This role involves analyzing and resolving deviations, supporting design improvements, and collaborating across functions to ensure manufacturability, quality, and reliability of turbine components.
Responsibilities:

  • Utilize analytical tools to assess and resolve hardware deviations while implementing preventative design solutions.
  • Lead redesign efforts by revising drawings to enhance manufacturability and product reliability.
  • Serve as the technical focal point for process qualifications, changes, and supplier second-source activities.
  • Conduct technical reviews of design tasks, assessing risks at the component, assembly, and system levels.
  • Follow standard work practices and design templates; contribute to continuous improvement of design and manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards and design quality requirements.

Requirement/Must Have:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college, or equivalent experience.
Should Have / Nice to Have:
  • Experience in mechanical engineering design for gas turbine hardware or similar rotating machinery (especially hot gas path components).
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, methods, materials, and coatings.
  • Experience with non-conformance dispositioning and engineering assessments for deviating hardware.
  • Familiarity with engineering software such as Ansys and NX.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
