Job Description

Production Supervisor

Reports to: Production Superintendent

Overview:
The Production Supervisor leads a team of hourly associates to meet production and quality goals. This role focuses on safety, continuous improvement, teamwork, and maintaining high performance standards using Lean manufacturing principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily production to ensure goals for safety, quality, and output are met or exceeded.
  • Coach, train, and develop employees through feedback, mentoring, and cross-training.
  • Promote continuous improvement using Lean tools such as 5S, root cause analysis, and Kaizen events.
  • Work with maintenance and engineering to prioritize equipment and tooling repairs.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area.
  • Address employee concerns and manage performance, attendance, and disciplinary issues.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and that all company policies and safety procedures are followed.
  • Record and report safety incidents and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; Associate's or higher degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a union environment a plus.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Integrity, teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.
