Job Description:

Summary: Exercises responsibility for ADAS functional adaptation to launch the ADAS ECU and OEM support cooperating with customer, other managers, and teams and global teams on development and after mass production phases.

Essential Functions:

Management
  • Create development masterplan aligned with the company's corporate business objectives.
  • Direct research and development, quality control and product modification and improvement activities in alignment with established program objectives.
  • Review all software defined mobility proposals to analyze time frames, funding limitations, staffing requirements, project procedures, and allotment of available resources for all phases of project.
  • Collaborate with test & verification team and cross-functional teams to design and develop software-defined mobility solutions tailored to specific network requirements and use cases.
  • Share knowledge and experience with internal teams and stakeholders to foster learning and collaboration.
Research & Development
  • Provide direction on design and development activities to improve, modify or design new products.
  • Create technical documentation, design specifications, and best practices guides for software-defined mobility solutions.
  • Manage customer-reported issues and provide directions on data analysis to teams, collaborate with global development teams to solve the issue.
  • Maintain and update MIL/SIL environments and establish HIL environments for data analysis.
  • Analyze data, create new techniques and evaluation as well as to make reports. Create new concepts and analysis to realize improved system.
  • Ensure legal compliance in all engineering product design activities.
Customer Service
  • Represent the company with its major customers, and the public.
  • Support all business objectives of the company by aligning design engineering activities with the organizational goals and objectives.
  • Travel to customer locations supporting product development and throughout(s) for product reviews, testing, and change updates with periodic travel with customer to company manufacturing facilities (domestic and international).
  • Consistently use exceptional customer service skills and work with all levels of staff and maintain strict confidentiality of information.
Compliance
  • Oversee the product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain a safe workplace and follow all regulations and requirements related to safety and environmental compliance.
  • Follow all quality policy standards.
Qualifications:

Knowledge skills and abilities:
  • Knowledge of ADAS control function is required.
  • Programming skills in C++ and MATLAB/Simulink are required.
  • Experience using Model Based Development tools (specifically MATLAB/Simulink and CarSim) is required.
  • Knowledge of in-vehicle communication protocols (CAN/Ethernet/etc.) is required.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software simulators such as dSpace/LabVIEW is required.
  • Knowledge of image processing using data from in-vehicle camera is preferred.
  • Prior experience with real-time algorithm development for image processing/sensor fusion systems is preferred.
  • Experience of sensor fusion related in-vehicle camera is a plus.
  • Familiarity with management tools (Confluence/Jira/etc.) is a plus.
  • Ability to lead a team and present development outcomes to sponsors and customers is required.
  • Ability to formulate policies in alignment with company strategy and customer plan and circumstance is required.
  • Ability to carry out system level integration (including hardware and software) within vehicles is a plus.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills will be required.
Additionally, the ability to work independently with minimal direction is required as are strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools is also required.

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related area required. Master's degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum 7 years prior related experience with master's degree and Minimum 10 years with bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of development experience in ADAS is required.
  • Exposure to Automotive engineering is required, including the followings
    • An understanding of automotive components and embedded systems.
    • Knowledge of ADAS sensor and ADAS control function.
    • An understanding of chassis systems and vehicle dynamics is a plus.


Job level determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Have the ability to work 40-60 hours per week.

Travel: Domestic and international may be required as needed.

Work Environment: Primarily in a professional business office with exposure to testing areas and periodic exposure to manufacturing environments.
