Join our dynamic Vascular Surgery team and make a difference in patient care As a Clinical Nurse II, you will play a crucial role in assessing, coordinating, planning, and managing the needs of patients throughout their care journey. Your work will focus on facilitating smooth transitions during the acute care stay, ensuring our patients' needs are met with excellence.
Work Shift: Day (United States of America)
Salary Range: $83,200.00 - $93,184.00
In this position, you will care for patients with complex conditions, including those with recent amputations and extensive vascular surgeries. We will provide you with essential education, including BLS, ACLS, Telemetry, wound care, Wound-Vacs, and central lines, to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests while documenting care as per regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to accurately assess patients' conditions.
- Continuously assess and evaluate patient needs and their responses to care provided.
- Utilize sound nursing judgment in making patient care management decisions.
- Deliver primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses.
- Administer medications, both over-the-counter and prescriptions, as directed.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create comprehensive Plans of Care for patients.
- Guide and direct ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A graduate from a professional nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
- Current Registered Nurse license from New York State.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), obtained and maintained.
- Previous experience as a PCA or in another nursing assistant role is preferred.
- Commitment to professional development through continuing education.
- Understanding of quality concepts and the ability to apply them to enhance patient care and departmental quality improvement.
