Position: Recreational Marine Claims Adjuster
PRIMARY PURPOSEAs a Recreational Marine Claims Adjuster, you will investigate and process marine claims adjustments for clients, handling complex losses independently up to $50,000 and providing assistance on larger claims within the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Investigate the cause and extent of damages, gather necessary documentation, and issue settlements.
- Receive and review new claims, maintaining data integrity in the claims system.
- Review survey reports and insurance policies to ascertain coverage.
- Prepare settlement documents and request payment for claims and related expenses.
- Assist in preparing loss experience reports to evaluate profitability and set future rates.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Support the organization's quality programs.
- Travel as needed for claims assessment.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. A valid state adjuster license is required.
Experience3 or more years of experience in Marine Adjusting is preferred.
Skills & Knowledge- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in PC applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong organizational capabilities.
- Commitment to timely reporting and follow-up.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Ability to meet or exceed performance competencies.

Mental RequirementsRequires the ability to think clearly and conceptually, exercise excellent judgment, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. Must manage work-related stress effectively, handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements- Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods.
- Must be able to kneel, squat, or bend.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead.
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Competent in pushing and pulling up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to drive for up to 4 hours per day.
- Continuous use of manual dexterity is required.
Adequate hearing, vision, and verbal communication skills.
