Position: Recreational Marine Claims Adjuster

As a Recreational Marine Claims Adjuster, you will investigate and process marine claims adjustments for clients, handling complex losses independently up to $50,000 and providing assistance on larger claims within the department.

• Investigate the cause and extent of damages, gather necessary documentation, and issue settlements.
• Receive and review new claims, maintaining data integrity in the claims system.
• Review survey reports and insurance policies to ascertain coverage.
• Prepare settlement documents and request payment for claims and related expenses.
• Assist in preparing loss experience reports to evaluate profitability and set future rates.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Support the organization's quality programs.
• Travel as needed for claims assessment.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. A valid state adjuster license is required.

3 or more years of experience in Marine Adjusting is preferred.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in PC applications, including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong organizational capabilities.
• Commitment to timely reporting and follow-up.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Ability to meet or exceed performance competencies.

Requires the ability to think clearly and conceptually, exercise excellent judgment, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. Must manage work-related stress effectively, handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

• Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods.
• Must be able to kneel, squat, or bend.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead.
• Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Competent in pushing and pulling up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to drive for up to 4 hours per day.
• Continuous use of manual dexterity is required.

Adequate hearing, vision, and verbal communication skills.
