Seeking Senior Operating Engineer in New Orleans, LA

Our client is seeking a talented Senior Operating Engineer to become an integral part of their team at a premier Class A office building downtown. Tenants include top-tier law, education, and accounting firms.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Execute and oversee tasks like painting, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain and prioritize tenant service requests via CMMS daily.
  • Supervise contractor activities for quality assurance.
  • Lead response efforts for on-call or emergency situations.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex building system issues.
  • Ensure team compliance with safety procedures and maintain clean work areas.
  • Manage special projects and technical training programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4-7 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
  • City of New Orleans 1st Class Stationary Engineer's Certificate in Air Conditioning required.
  • Associate degree in engineering technology, trade school certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven supervisory/leadership experience in building operations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with success in team development.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.

The engineering team rotates shifts weekly, with one Saturday half-day required per month.
