Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Technical or Vocational Certification in a related field preferred
  • Basic tools are required
  • Experience in mechanical repair of diesel and automotive gas engines is essential, including:
    • Routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes and brake work
    • Diagnostics and repairs for AC and electrical systems
    • Advanced level repairs, including major engine repairs and diesel systems
  • Must demonstrate leadership abilities to effectively lead a team
  • Preferred four years or more of relevant work experience
  • Non-Commercial Driver License (Class E) preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL Class A) preferred
  • Must have minimum tools required as outlined in Ryder's Maintenance policy
  • Ability to secure and take home an assigned mobile service truck, as applicable
  • Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and work independently
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with good follow-up practices
  • Must pass a Ryder Drug Test and DOT physical
  • Must pass a Ryder road test and background checks

Responsibilities

  • Make key decisions regarding vehicle diagnostics and repairs
  • Perform a wide variety of maintenance and repair work with minimal assistance
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers and team members
  • Conduct preventative maintenance checks and repairs
  • Be accountable for maintaining precise records of service and compliance with safety regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
