About the Job:

We are looking for a dedicated individual to fill the role of Maintenance and Fleet Technician III at our Burlington Red Cross Blood Center in Burlington, VT. This position requires a flexible schedule, primarily from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with on-call duties as needed. A valid driver’s license is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs across various trades, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical.
  • Conduct inspections to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
  • Manage fleet operations, including vehicle registrations and maintenance compliance.
  • Provide customer service in fleet management, ensuring adherence to safety and operational procedures.
  • Document maintenance and repair work as required by regulatory standards.
  • Manage and maintain a fleet of 13 vehicles and a facility spanning 32,000 square feet.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in maintenance trades.
  • Experience with HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires frequent lifting of 10-50 lbs, occasional lifting of over 100 lbs with assistance, and the ability to use various tools and equipment safely.
