Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), also called Patient Care Assistant (PCA), functions as a member of the patient care team under the direction of a registered nurse (RN). The PCA performs all aspects of patient care, supporting RN duties such as blood glucose monitoring, EKG completion, application of simple dressings, use of aseptic technique, and response to medical emergencies using Heartsaver CPR and AED skills. The CNA also attends to patients and family needs, contributes to the efficient operation of the unit, and promotes the Patient and Family Centered Care Model. The unit is a 37?private?bed fast?paced medicine/telemetry teaching unit in BWFH 6 South, providing care for adults with acute and chronic conditions and employing technology such as telemetry, Vocera, Epic, and a Constant Monitoring System (CVM).

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED certificate.
  • Certified nursing assistant or current nursing student with Fundamentals of Nursing or equivalent med/surg clinical rotation.
  • Completed AHA Heartsaver CPR and AED program.

Work Details

Location: 1153 Centre Street, Brigham and Womens Faulkner Hospital, Jamaica Plain, MA.

Organizational unit: 6 South, Med/Telemetry Floor.

Shift: Rotating (day/evening). Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

Pay range: $18.56$27.58 per hour.

Grade: SF1130 (Grade 130).

Type: Onsite (no remote work).
