Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer on behalf of our client, a telecommunications company specializing in the design, construction, and operation of advanced fiber-optic networks.

The Technical Solutions Engineer serves as a key technical liaison between Sales/Pre-Sales, Engineering/Architecture, and Service Fulfillment teams. This role ensures a seamless transition from solution design to service delivery by gathering and validating technical details, creating actionable scopes of work, and coordinating onboarding readiness. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication and coordination skills to drive efficient, error-free provisioning and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary technical intermediary between Sales/Pre-Sales, Engineering/Architecture, and Service Fulfillment teams.
  • Lead post-sale technical intake by collecting and validating key architectural details, credentials, firewall rule requirements, and vendor dependencies.
  • Translate customer architecture into clear, actionable scopes of work (SOW/SOF) for the provisioning and engineering teams.
  • Conduct onboarding and provisioning kickoffs to ensure readiness and prevent delays in implementation.
  • Identify and address process gaps between Sales, Architecture, and Provisioning, improving communication and workflow efficiency.
  • Support limited pre-sales activities by providing technical clarifications, solution diagrams, and Q&A assistance.
  • Develop and refine intake questionnaires, checklists, and templates to improve order accuracy and "provisioning-ready" deal handoffs.
  • Escalate and coordinate technical issues with internal stakeholders and customers, ensuring resolution with defined action items and timelines.
  • Document customer interactions and outcomes in an organized and professional manner.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance standard operating procedures, readiness checklists, and documentation.
  • Present professionally in both virtual and in-person meetings with clients and internal teams.
Requirements Include:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
Experience:
  • Experience in technical sales engineering, solutions architecture, or network engineering within telecommunications or IT services.
  • Background in post-sales implementation, provisioning, or customer onboarding coordination preferred.
Skills:
  • Strong understanding of networking technologies, including SD-WAN and SASE architecture.
  • Proficiency with Fortinet products and general network security principles.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams in a virtual environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively under tight timelines.
Certifications:
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent) are a plus.
Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of network architecture, provisioning processes, and security frameworks.
  • Familiarity with technologies and practices including: Fortinet Product Stack. SD-WAN Fundamentals. SASE (CASB, SWG, NGFW, ZTNA).
  • Nice-to-have knowledge in, Threat Detection and Response (SIEM, EDR, MDR). Access and Identity Security (IAM, MFA, PAM). Patch & Vulnerability Management. Encryption and Data Protection. Policy Governance Frameworks (CIS, NIST, ISO).
