Director of Engineering, Android

Location: San Francisco, Los Angeles, CA or Dallas, TX

About the Role: As the Director of Engineering for Android Platforms, you will join an existing team that builds mobile, tablet, automotive, living room devices, and partner devices. You will bring hands-on experience to these platforms and work with our engineers to help foster a culture of excellence in operations, engineering, and delivery. You will lean on your engineering leadership experience to continue team development and collaboration.

Qualifications
  • You have 10+ years of applicable engineering/development experience
  • You have 5+ years of leadership experience in a software engineering capacity
  • You have a high-level understanding of Android development technologies, frameworks and languages
  • You have demonstrated leadership in establishing code quality, software testing, and product reliability in Android development teams
  • You are familiar with modern Android development tools and practices
  • You have built and managed global and cohesive teams while recognizing and nurturing talent
  • You create an environment where engineers feel motivated and supported
  • You have demonstrated experience with:
    • Aligning Android development strategies with business goals
    • Creating development roadmaps
    • Implementing and overseeing testing processes, test automation, continuous integration and delivery
  • You have the following technology skills:
    • Languages: Kotlin, Java
    • Frameworks & Libraries: Experience with frameworks like Jetpack libraries
