Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer will support training and product development for gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) and related high-voltage equipment. This role combines technical expertise with strong communication skills to design, deliver, and enhance training programs focused on switchgear systems and power distribution. The position offers the opportunity to develop as a subject matter expert and mentor within the field of next-generation gas-insulated equipment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver technical training programs for gas-insulated (SF ) switchgear systems and related technologies.

  • Develop expertise in the design, operation, commissioning, and maintenance of gas-insulated switchgear products.

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and technical teams to align training materials with field practices and safety standards.

  • Provide technical troubleshooting support and assist in implementing corrective actions to improve equipment and training outcomes.

  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, industry standards, and best practices in power systems and electrical distribution.

  • Contribute to expanding training coverage to related areas such as LOTO, vacuum or air switchgear, and circuit breaker systems.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the power industry, preferably within utilities, transmission and distribution, or electrical equipment manufacturing.

  • Working knowledge of electrical distribution systems, switchgear, and substation equipment.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to present complex technical content clearly to diverse audiences, including engineers and technicians.

  • Proficiency with engineering and presentation tools such as CAD, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Collaborative, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Gas-Insulated (SF ) or Air-Insulated Switchgear systems.

  • Experience with generator circuit breakers (GCB), vacuum breakers, or protection and control systems.

  • Background in project execution, commissioning, or maintenance within power systems.

  • Understanding of electrical safety practices and standards such as IEEE, IEC, NETA, NFPA, and OSHA.

  • Prior experience in developing or delivering technical training (preferred but not required).


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.


Work Experience

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in power systems, electrical equipment, or utility operations.
