Quality Assurance Engineer II

Join The MEPPI Team Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer II Cooling Systems to plan, direct and support activities to assess and provide root cause analyses and corrective action implementation for Critical Power Solutions Division (CPSD) quality problems. You will also implement and maintain quality assurance programs and lead efforts for ISO 9001, internal audits and management reviews for Cooling Systems (Data Center Cooling Systems). MEPPI CPSD continually advances the design, manufacturing, and supply of fully integrated UPS solutions including switchgear and battery cabinets. With these operations, Mitsubishi Electric has been manufacturing precision engineered highly reliable Uninterruptible Power Supplies since 1964 and solving the challenges of American critical facilities since 1985. In 2021, the division expanded into new market verticals, launching IT Cooling products, services and complete solutions for the growing edge data center market. This position will report to the Critical Power Solutions Division (CPSD) Quality Department Manager. You will be required to work onsite in Warrendale, PA. What You'll Do: Support and lead root cause investigations for production, process and field quality issues in support of divisional goals. Support and lead corrective action development and implementation for production, process and field quality issues. Verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions to improve quality performance. Analyze field service reports and identify trends to develop preventative action plans. Facilitate the use of the 8 disciplines (8Ds) of problem-solving techniques. Lead work with CPSD departments to develop 5-WHY and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA) problem solving techniques for divisional needs as needed. Review, trend and close-out nonconformities and incidents on time and as required. Collaborate with suppliers, incoming inspection, in-process inspection, production and engineering to resolve in-process product assembly problems. Participate in and/or lead internal audits upon request. Work with all departments to help close audit findings in an effective and timely manner. Coordinate continued evaluation of procedures and documentation throughout the CPSD. Verify for completeness, accuracy and lack of redundancy. Facilitate in-house quality assurance and manufacturing improvement programs throughout CPSD. Assure quality records are generated, retained, stored, protected and disposed of according to CPSD and Company policies. What You'll Bring: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field with 3-5 years' experience in quality control and/or assurance function, or equivalent education and experience, with a focus in HVAC or IT Cooling Systems. Intermediate knowledge of ISO-9000, Quality Assurance and manufacturing improvement practices such as Lean and Six Sigma. Advanced knowledge of quality techniques such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Deming Methods, 5-Why, 8Ds, etc. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products and MRP/ERP systems.
