The purpose of the Total Rewards Coordinator is to realize the mission, vision, philosophy, and values of San Juan Regional Medical Center by answering questions regarding relevant benefit and compensation related items. Support the administrative activities for both the Benefits Administrator and Compensation Specialist. Provide an overall understanding of our Total Rewards systems for SJRMC employees.

  • Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Three (3)+ years of work in Human Resources
  • Ability to add and subtract numbers, pulls reports, analyzes reports, and interprets Total Rewards data for employees and managers
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Pleasant personality, ability to deal with stressful situations
  • Excellent time management and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to receive and accept direction in a positive and cooperative manner
  • Proficient in MS Office and extensive computer experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
  • Workday or related cloud based ERP experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Generate enthusiasm about and drive participation in the Total Rewards initiatives through education, understanding quarterly themes and goals, facilitating studies and employee activities
  • Assist in the administration, implementation and communication of compensation and benefit policies and practices
  • Assist with the administration, management, and education of employees on various employee reward plans
  • Administratively support the compensation and benefits teams survey participation and analysis, and other duties as assigned
  • At the New Employee Orientation (NEO) present benefits presentation to new employees every other Monday or on designated NEO dates
  • Conduct Interactive Discussions and provide ADA/ADAAA Reasonable Accommodation Guidance, and support the FMLA and LOA processes under the guidance of the Benefits Administrator, independently, with managers, and with our third party vendor
  • Provide administrative support for the Sunshine Fund; to include receiving emails, process check requests, track the data & documentation for requests, continue information flow to appropriate parties
  • Verify the Benefit Enrollment Process: check status of new employees and send out reminders of the deadline
  • Health Risk Assessment: verify eligibility on TPA website, send out HRA instructions, verify completion, and enter into Workday
  • Insurance Supplier/Vendor Invoicing: reconciliation and processing of monthly statements, as well as the processing of check requests
  • Relationship Management: ability to provide information at all levels of the organization; establish trust, credibility and respect, as an impartial advocate for organizational business objectives
  • Ability to analyze and define a problem, evaluate alternative solutions, and identify an optimal solution; listens and clarifies information as needed
  • Support Talent Management events, such as culture, engagement, and rewards/awards initiatives
  • Effectively exchange information with stakeholders through various avenues, including but not limited to verbal, written, facilitation, and persuasion
  • Electronic Filing of all process flow/documentation of duties
  • Administrative duties include, but not limited to incoming/outgoing mail with AskSJRMC-HR or HR email boxes, eFaxes, distribute, process, scan, and file away administrative items
  • Management of service tickets and intake items that are compensation and benefit related
  • Support qualified Life Event Change Management and administrative updates within Workday, which could include name changes, insurance changes, qualifying events, etc.
  • Support project management: ability to determine appropriate measures to achieve project goals and prioritize the measures; able to fully engage project participants to deliver an acceptable result in the time allocated
  • Readily adapts behavior and work methods in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles
  • Workday notifications, term letters, final paycheck acknowledgements/authorization forms, USPS/UPS/FedEx, etc. Labeling, pulling of personnel file, return IT and work equipment, as well as the oversight of the tracking process for these activities.
  • Office organization duties/responsibilities and Lean initiatives as assigned
  • Support Open Enrollment coordination, logistics, set up, and evaluations
  • Cross train on select FMLA items to provide coverage support during leave and PTO periods
  • Complete all requests for employment verification
  • Complete all unemployment claims
  • Complete all Sunlife Evidence of Insurability (EOI), Short-Term (STD), Long-Term (LTD) claims
  • Complete Life Insurance Claims
  • Process PTO Donations
  • Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC's Service Standards into their daily work:
Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Occasional irregular work hours (to meet the needs of SJRMC)
  • Must be able to lift twenty-five (25) pounds
  • Occasional: lifting, carrying, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and stooping
  • Must be able to: talk (ordinary and conversations), hear (ordinary and conversations), and see (acuity: near and far, depth perception, and color vision)
