Construction Project Manager

We're seeking a results-driven Project Manager to oversee civil construction projects from start to finish. This role combines hands-on field involvement with strategic oversight-ideal for someone who thrives in both settings and enjoys coordinating people, schedules, and resources to deliver high-quality results.
The Project Manager will take ownership of project execution, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining strong communication with clients, engineers, and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of civil construction projects from planning through completion.
- Review project plans, scope, and specifications for accuracy.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts.
- Coordinate labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment needs.
- Track daily quantities, crew hours, and equipment use to monitor progress.
- Identify scope changes and manage change orders and extra work requests.
- Prepare and submit pay estimates, review invoices, and reconcile costs.
- Conduct regular site visits to confirm work quality, safety, and compliance.
- Support and communicate with field superintendents to resolve issues.
- Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, logs, and approvals.
- Manage project closeout, including final billing and documentation.
- Use GPS, drone, or layout technology for monitoring and reporting as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers, owners, and inspectors to ensure project requirements are met.
- Mentor team members and promote consistency in project management practices.
- 5+ years of experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, or transportation construction
- 3+ years of proven project management experience
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking
- Experience with project management software preferred
- Working knowledge of GPS, drone, or digital layout technologies a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Background in DOT, bridge, roadway, or excavation projects strongly preferred
