Human Resources Manager

The ideal candidate will have experience in talent management and development of a similar company with a thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures. The bulk of the role will involve employee hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, compensation, rewards, performance management, training, succession planning, offboarding, and conflict resolution, and there is a great opportunity for developing and refining systems. We are eager to find a Human Resources Manager who connects easily with people and has a detail-oriented mindset for handling the dynamic nature of today's workforce.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and refine employee standards and procedures, using existing HR systems as well as improve or recommend processes.
- Maintain and enhance employee benefits programs, including compensation, health and workmen's compensation insurance, expense reimbursement, and vacation.
- Assist with recruitment efforts and prepare employees for their assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state labor regulations by conducting investigations and maintaining records appropriately.
- Identify and recommend improvements to internal standard operating procedures, including team restructuring and morale building.
- Support departments in developing and delivering operational and strategic HR plans that fit with the overall business direction.
- Plan, monitor, and appraise HR activities by scheduling management meetings, resolving employee grievances, training managers in how to coach and discipline, and counseling employees and supervisors.
- Champion the onboarding process by ensuring that it is high-quality and up-to-date, and provides clarity and connection for employees, so their roles serve the overall business vision.
- Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human-resources policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all compliance and legal proceedings are met and are in line with the CA state and federal laws.
- Administer the workmen's compensation insurance and keep a close tab on workplace accidents to minimize claims.
- Management of the time and attendance system to ensure that salaries paid to employees are computed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Build strong relationships with all stakeholders, fostering trust and promoting collaboration.
- Handle confidential matters with discretion.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources or related field.
- Experience working with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Strong understanding of federal and state laws applicable to Human Resources.
- Three or more years of experience in human resources management, in a similar capacity.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate in Spanish.
- Good interpersonal skills and an ethical mindset.
- Ability to identify skill gaps and identify training needs.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Identify talent and create career and succession plans.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems.
