The Cincinnati Insurance Companies are currently seeking undergraduate intern(s) for several of our IT departments. Our successful candidates will want to gain a meaningful work experience with us for Summer 2026. These roles are onsite and based out of our Headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio.

- participating in an introductory insurance class(es)
- engaging with different departments to understand our corporate structure
- signing up for optional learning development tracks / opportunities
- interacting with leadership and experienced associates
- participating in group and individual projects
- learning new development tools and technical stacks with hands on development projects
- carry out Functional and Integration testing and assist system users with user testing
- deploy the Document Capture Process in production
- perform regular maintenance on the Captiva environments, including software installation, upgrades, and patching
- manage all Security, Logging, Audit, and Usage requirements within the Captiva environment
- perform troubleshooting, resolution, and root cause analysis on issues that relate to the Captiva environment
- provide support for other applications such as Documentum, CTS, CSSAPP/ASSAP, ProArchiver, etc.
- complete low to medium complexity work orders (e.g. cables, server retirements, equipment delivery, labeling etc.)
- the installation and uninstallation of network hardware with assistance from higher level technicians
- participate in equipment and CDU audits
- monitor data center footprint and capacities
- provide support to operational infrastructure staff
- assist with business activities and processes
- participate and contribute to team meetings, presentations, and projects
- research emerging trends, data analysis, and evaluate options
- generate reports, assist with documentation, and patching
- serve internal and external customers
- understanding of SQL, Github, Jira, and Splunk is preferred
- provide support for multiple on-site Opex scanners for monthly maintenance and troubleshooting
- understanding of computer networks (TCP/IP protocol, load balancing, etc.), Linux/Windows server platform, virtualization, cloud computing concepts
- understanding of front-end/back-end or full-stack development concepts
- effective communication skills with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to non-technical audience
- ability to interact effectively with management and colleagues to prioritize and organize work
- willingness to continually learn new technologies, skills, and improved processes
- reliable and service-oriented mindset
Starting Pay: Begins at $18 per hour and is based on the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Candidates should have the ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship. Our company is not currently hiring interns for this role if they will need sponsorship at any time in the future, including Optional Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT).
Requirements:
- enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student at an accredited college/university (sophomore/second year or above preferred)
- all majors are welcome to apply
- collegiate transcripts required with submission of candidate profile (unofficial are acceptable)
- in good academic standing (cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher preferred)
- must be able to work up to 40 hours per week
- proficient in Microsoft® Office tools and related software
