Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center is seeking passionate individuals for the role of Surgical Technologist I in our General Specialty department. Be part of a nationally recognized health care provider operating in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a clean and efficient area for optimal patient care using aseptic techniques.
  • Assist in preparing materials and equipment for surgical procedures.
  • Manage the operating room environment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Function as a Second Assistant when necessary.
  • Notify staff of any equipment or supply issues.
  • Transport patients and equipment with care.
  • Maintain specialty carts to ensure their readiness and functionality.
  • Provide age-appropriate care by understanding growth and development principles.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry weight regularly, up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to withstand a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Must wear safety gear such as masks, gloves, and goggles.
