We are on the lookout for a talented Lead Software Engineer to join Cloudera's Cloud Connector Engineering team. In this exciting role, you will design, develop, and maintain cloud connector solutions that allow seamless integration between Cloudera's data platform and a range of cloud services. You'll be working on scalable, high-performance solutions that enable effective data integration across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

As a Lead Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing cloud connectors to integrate Cloudera's platform with AWS, Azure, GCP, and other cloud services.
• Developing robust, well-tested code to facilitate data ingestion, movement, and synchronization across cloud platforms.
• Leading technical design discussions and contributing to architectural decisions for connector frameworks and infrastructure.
• Collaborating with product, architecture, and infrastructure teams to define requirements and specifications effectively.
• Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance on best practices and design patterns to foster growth.
• Participating in code reviews, establishing coding standards, and driving continuous improvement in code quality.
• Troubleshooting complex production issues and implementing scalable solutions to enhance performance.
• Documenting technical designs, APIs, and implementation details for clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Staying current with cloud platform updates, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to maintain an edge in the field.

Required Qualifications:

• BSc/MSc in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience focusing on cloud platforms or distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or Go (one or more).
• Demonstrated experience developing cloud connectors, integrations, or middleware solutions.
• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their core services (storage, compute, networking).
• Experience with data processing frameworks and large-scale data movement.
• Solid grasp of API design, REST, gRPC, and message protocols.
• Proven ability to design and implement scalable, maintainable software solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Experience working in agile development environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Apache Hadoop, Spark, or other big data technologies.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or container orchestration.
• Background in cloud-native application development.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
