Skillset / Experience:
We are seeking a highly reliable and detail-oriented Support Engineer to manage critical domain and CDN configurations for internal domain owners. You will have the opportunity to support thousands of teams on essential change requests.This role involves handling time-sensitive requests, executing configuration changes via a command-line control plane, and ensuring the highest standards of operational excellence to prevent outages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal domain owners to onboard domains to the CDN and apply configuration changes.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) meticulously to execute domain and DNS/CDN changes.
- Directly support customers, addressing common use cases like adding new routing rules, traffic shifting, rate limiting, and firewall protections.
- Work closely with full-time engineers, acting as a first responder for critical incidents and escalating issues as needed.
- Conduct root cause analysis for failed commands and debug issues by reviewing underlying code (primarily in Node.js).
- Support critical production systems, carefully testing and validating changes to avoid disruption.
- Help identify opportunities for automation and scaling of manual processes.
- 4+ years of experience providing customer facing support to critical systems at a large scale
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, DNS, and CDN functionality.
- Strong adherence to SOPs and an unwavering commitment to high standards
- Ability to handle time-sensitive tasks with a sense of urgency and high attention to detail
- Familiarity with AWS services and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience reading and understanding coded commands (e.g., Node.js), even if not required to write code.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and trace issues to their root cause.
- Experience with automation preferred
