MFG Maintenance Mechanic III

- Diagnose, repair, and maintain all packaging and support equipment to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Conducts line changeovers and makes necessary set-up and adjustments as required by the production schedule.
- Perform line alteration, rebuilding as necessary.
- Utilize data from both CMMS and MES to analyse and solve both routine and complex electrical and mechanical problems of processing, packaging, and auxiliary equipment.
- Assist manufacturing personnel on process related problems
- Perform established Preventative Maintenance.
- Identify and correct mechanical/electrical maintenance issues found during PM process.
- Assist Engineering on equipment installations.
- Repair and fabricate parts as required.
- Operate forklift trucks as required to move equipment or materials.
- Assist and train team members in simple adjustments and maintenance
- Other duties as assigned
- Continuous Improvements and problem-solving initiatives to include analysing data to identify machine downtime issues and coming up with root cause and preventive measures
- Train team members in simple adjustments and maintenance
- Repair, maintain, and support equipment on both Aerosol and Hair Care Packaging lines to maximize productivity and quality including changeovers, set-ups, installation, and adjustments.
- Advanced skills and knowledge of the repair and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment, electric motors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, PLC's, bearings, shafts, production machines and liquid filling equipment required.
- key aspect of this role is troubleshooting machine downtime events and utilizing root cause analysis techniques to identify and resolve issues at their source.
- Specification of the necessary graduation and vocational training considering recent educational requirements which are needed to fulfil the above-mentioned tasks of the position.
- Necessary vocational training Completion of a mechanical or electrical apprenticeship, or military technical training strongly preferred.
- Necessary further training Advanced technical knowledge of machine shop operations, welding, mechanical/electrical maintenance principles (shafts, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, AC/DC motors, starters, contactors, three phase power, PLC's) required.
- Ability to read blueprints, possess advanced mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills and production maintenance work experience.
- Initiative/motivation and communication skill required.
- Overall work experience (years) 7-plus years' mechanic experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- The position is in the factory and could involve standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Occasionally this position may require the lifting and/or moving of more than 60 pounds. All lifting must comply with OSHA standards.
- High School graduate, or equivalent, or Associate degree in mechanical technology, electrical technology, or engineering science a plus.
