As a Licensed Electrician, you will be essential in providing service, repair, maintenance, and installation for residential customers, while also training apprentices. Your daily responsibilities include:
- Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
- Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate and correct problems.
- Connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspecting electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
- Advising management on whether the continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety.
- Maintaining a current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
- Planning the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
- Directing and training workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Preparing sketches or following blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Training and working one-on-one with Electrical apprentices.
- Must hold a CT E1 Electrical License
- Completed High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have completed a minimum of 4 years of trade school in Electrical.
- A minimum of 4 years of related work experience is preferred.
- Must be willing to participate in technical continuing education.
- The ability to perform essential duties including assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and components.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a safe driving history.
- The ability to perform the physical demands of the job, including those described as representative of the required physical abilities.
