JOB SUMMARY:

The Drywall Estimator provides preconstruction support of the self-perform projects, primarily framing, drywall and insulation. This role requires detailed quantity survey, production evaluation and material/equipment pricing using applicable project plans, specifications and supporting documentation.

SALARY RANGE: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually (companywide)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare consistently accurate, detailed, quantity surveys.
  • Independently prepare complete self-perform cost estimate packages for projects.
  • Attend preconstruction meetings to learn project information, estimating deadlines and deliverables.
  • Able to discuss project scope clearly and effectively during estimate review.
  • Prepare and submit pre-bid RFI's for scope clarifications.
  • Prepare variance reports to identify the cost deltas at each budget update.
  • Identify cost-savings opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with material manufacturers and vendors.
  • Prepare estimate turnover packages for the self-perform project managers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years or more of experience in the commercial drywall industry.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively manage multiple tasks under differing deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team and clients.

Capable of traversing over construction-type terrain when under development; moving through the construction site and the materials in place for use on the site; climbing ladders and temporary stairways; conducting visual inspections of quality of construction and materials being used in construction. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the job site. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud.
