Schedule Details/Additional Information:

$10,000 SIGN-ON Bonus Eligible with distance-based relocation available and $2,000 SIGN-ON Bonus for Evening Shifts

Become part of our AMAZING Operating Room Team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, Wisconsin's largest hospital with a renowned heart-care team available 24/7. We are committed to providing innovative patient care with a compassionate touch.

Schedule/Hours: Full-time evening shift, 8 or 10 hr shifts or Monday to Friday with on-call availability (5-8 overnight call slots and 1-2 weekend call slots in an 8-week schedule). Call hours may vary based on staffing needs and require a 30-minute arrival time.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient surgical environment using aseptic techniques.
  • Prepare and set up surgical areas and maintain sterile fields.
  • Assist Surgeons by passing instruments and anticipating needs during procedures.
  • Set up and maintain operating room equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Function as a Second Assistant when necessary.
  • Transport patients and maintain specialty carts for surgical supplies.
  • Exhibit knowledge of patient care appropriate to all ages.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification must be obtained within 6 months.

Education Required:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.

Experience Required:

  • No prior experience necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and operating room protocols.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry specified weights and maneuver equipment as required.
  • Exposure to various hazards in a healthcare setting.
