Senior Analyst - Business Intelligence
Overview:
As a Senior Analyst - Business Intelligence, you will provide analytical support for strategic initiatives within Wesco's Utility and Broadband Strategic Business Unit (SBU). You will assist with performance measurement and opportunity identification, leveraging analytical tools such as SQL, Python, and Power BI. In this role, you will lead analytics projects focused on industry comparisons, competitor evaluation, market segment penetration, and assessment of SBU sales versus market trends. Additionally, you will analyze current systems and processes, identify improvement opportunities, develop solutions, and provide close support to teams across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze data related to the SBU, including national and local market size, customer behavior, competitive advantages, and overall business performance.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support business decision-making and identify new market segments and industry opportunities.
  • Analyze customer, company, and market data to identify trends, opportunities, and progress toward goals.
  • Provide analytical support for diligence efforts, including identification of commercial and supply chain synergies.
  • Collect and maintain data on SBU performance, customer behavior, market intelligence, and competitive intelligence.
  • Prepare executive-level updates on key initiatives, results achieved, and current SBU performance.
  • Serve as a catalyst for process improvement and data-driven decision-making, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other Wesco analysts to support strategic objectives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics.
  • 3+ years of experience creating executive-level reports.
  • 3+ years of experience establishing KPIs and building processes to manage them.
  • 3+ years of experience implementing process improvements and change management initiatives.
  • 3+ years of experience in a large, complex organization with multiple ERP systems.
  • Experience in dynamic environments such as strategy consulting or private equity is strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Python.
  • Advanced experience creating executive-level dashboards and reports, including visualizations such as graphs and charts.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deliverables.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data.
  • Preferred: process and data mapping skills, experience validating large datasets, and experience in supply chain, distribution, or logistics functions.
  • Ability to travel 0%-25%.
