LSF is seeking a dedicated Case Management Support Specialist Lead ready to make a significant difference in the lives of children and families.
Purpose & Impact:
In this role, you will utilize your expertise in Florida Child Welfare Statutes and administrative procedures to guide and support a team of case managers. As a lead, you will focus on mentoring, motivating, and training your team, ensuring that they provide essential services to families and maintain quality case management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to the case management team, ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
- Oversee daily operations to meet contractual performance standards.
- Directly monitor and guide the Case Management Support Specialist Team, ensuring all documentation and performance measures are maintained effectively.
- Assist with complex cases, offering strategic support to stabilize high-risk youth.
- Identify staff performance needs and implement developmental plans to enhance their skills.
- Promote a culture of excellence by recognizing outstanding performance among team members.
- Utilize software effectively to manage reports and track various performance indicators.
- Help streamline client service referrals and administrative tasks to improve service delivery.
- Manage work assignments efficiently and meet established deadlines.
- Facilitate unit meetings for information sharing, training, and team building.
- Conduct timely performance evaluations and submit them for review.
- Engage in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities as required.
- Perform additional duties and special assignments as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain a courteous and respectful interaction with all clients, staff, and stakeholders.
- Communicate actively with the Program Director and the APD about pertinent activities and challenges.
- Ensure adherence to safety practices and facilitate a safe work environment.
- Complete all mandated training, including supervisory training and Child Welfare Supervisor certification.
- Adhere to confidentiality rules and regulations.
- Be available for on-call duties as needed, carrying an active cellphone during work hours and beyond.
Other Requirements:
- Complete a minimum of 40 hours of relevant training annually.
- Participate in mandatory agency web-based courses.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform general office duties.
- Must be able to lift objects up to 20 pounds and have sufficient visual and auditory capabilities for effective communication.
- Work is primarily in an office or hybrid environment with occasional travel required.
- Flexibility to adapt to irregular hours as needed.
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in a human services field is required; Child Protection Certification and a Master’s Degree are preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in child welfare services; supervisory experience is an advantage.
Skills Required:
- In-depth knowledge of child protection theories, ethics, and assessment methods.
- Strong management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to assess and improve staff performance effectively.
- Understanding of relevant laws and procedures related to child welfare.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and provide effective feedback.
