As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform essential clinical and administrative duties within our healthcare system, ensuring high standards of patient care and workflow. You will work closely under the supervision of a physician, conducting patient intake, following standing orders, performing venipuncture, and facilitating laboratory testing.

Your role also includes administering various medications, including oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal, once you demonstrate competency to our Clinical Professional Development Specialist or their designee. Your responsibilities will extend to capturing and transmitting diagnostic X-ray images as certified Clinical Care Specialists (CCSs). Additionally, you will maintain thorough and accurate medical records to support patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Successfully float across various sites/locations, performing all duties required at multiple entities.
  • Adhere to MedStar Health’s Code of Conduct and compliance plan, ensuring all training and certifications are up to date in safety, infection control, CPR, EMR, and more.
  • Clean, stock, and prepare equipment and patient areas, ensuring a safe environment for quality care delivery.
  • Embrace new technology, utilizing electronic health records and maintaining effective communication to enhance patient flow and comfort.
  • Execute additional tests and care as outlined in the MedStar Health practices, such as spirometry/PFTs, patient vitals, EKGs, and other procedures under medical supervision.
  • Perform venipuncture and laboratory testing as needed, ensuring adherence to policy and safety standards when conducting X-rays and maintaining equipment.
  • Communicate and engage with patients and their families, creating a supportive atmosphere while providing clear information and assistance as needed.
  • Support the team by maintaining flexibility during patient processing and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Under medical supervision, prepare and administer medications following established competencies.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a relevant field.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Externship experience in a medical or ambulatory health setting.
  • Preferred 2 years of experience in a medical office.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Current Maryland, Virginia, or DC State License.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD $29.15 - USD $51.68 per hour.
