Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Greenwood Village, CO that is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and support applications within a large, distributed data platform environment. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working across modern APIs, and continuously improving how software is built and delivered. The GQL Java Developer will contribute across the full development lifecycle-from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and support-while collaborating closely with engineers, product partners, and platform teams.Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, modify, and implement software applications supporting data-driven platforms and services
  • Build and maintain backend services and APIs used by internal and downstream systems
  • Support application deployments, upgrades, and operational stability across environments
  • Participate in code reviews, test planning, test execution, and release certification
  • Analyze requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable solutions
  • Troubleshoot issues across application and integration layers and drive resolution
  • Apply sound engineering judgment to plan work, estimate effort, and deliver results
  • Continuously improve development efficiency, quality, and reliability
Skills
  • 2-5 years of professional software development experience
  • Hands-on experience with Java
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript and modern web or API-driven development
  • Experience building or consuming GraphQL APIs
  • Familiarity with modern SDLC practices (CI/CD, automated testing, version control)
  • Exposure to enterprise-scale systems, data platforms, or distributed architectures is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
