We are looking to hire a skilled Soil Health Specialist I with expertise in agronomy research, data analysis, and soil health. This role will assist with field sampling, data collection, and basic analysis to support internal research and customer operations. The ideal candidate will bring a background in agriculture and experience working with data and field-based research activities.

This is an hourly, non-exempt role based in Texas and requires travel to regional and North American field sites to perform sampling and research activities.

This role will report directly to the Senior Agriculture Research Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Support agronomy research activities, including identifying crop needs and helping tailor algae-based benefits to individual customer scenarios.

• Coordinate and carry out field sampling across multiple states based on research and operational priorities.

• Assist in training staff and external partners on sampling procedures and technical field processes.

• Create and maintain written and verbal protocols (SOPs)

• Support the design and implementation of experimental field plots.

• Collect, organize, and perform basic analysis of qualitative and quantitative data

• Maintain accurate records in spreadsheets, databases, logs, task lists, and calendars.

• Process soil, crop, and laboratory samples.

• Conduct preliminary statistical evaluations and prepare summary reports as directed.

• Maintain safety protocols and follow established safety procedures.

• Track, organize, and maintain field sampling tools, supplies, and inventory.

• Represent MyLand professionally at all times, following company standards for conduct, attire, and workspace care.

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

• BS degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Soil Science, or related field

• 1-5 years of agriculture related research experience

• Full-time, hybrid position with occasional extended or weekend hours

• Travel up to 50% of the time • Valid driver's license

• Ability to work outside under high heat, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, and/or sit at desk for extended periods

• Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, viewing a computer screen, microscope, and extensive reading

• Exposure to chemicals typically used in agriculture, microalgae production and laboratory analyses • Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office

• Familiarity with basic statistical software such as JMP, R, Minitab, or SAS is preferred.

• Exceptional active listening and verbal and written communication skills • Strong research, decision-making and problem-solving skills • Work independently or in teams

• Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
