Your Role as Wound Care Coordinator

  • Oversee and develop wound care services in compliance with regulatory standards and physician orders.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to provide expert guidance on wound care treatments.
  • Lead educational programs for hospital staff on wound care, and provide information to patients and their families.
  • Stay current with the latest wound care techniques and advancements through continuous education.

Qualifications

  • Licensed RN, Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist required, especially in acute rehab hospitals; RN is required in long-term acute care settings.
  • CPR certification is mandatory.
  • At least one year of wound care experience is required.
  • Ongoing education in wound care through seminars or professional organizations is required.
  • Effective communication, decision-making skills, and the ability to work independently are essential.
