LocumJobsOnline is working with Adelphi Locums to find a qualified Hematology and Oncology MD in Cooperstown, New York, 13326 About The Position JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Hematology/Oncology Physician Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Cooperstown, NY Service Setting: Outpatient only Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: 12/27/25 Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: MonFri, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (40 hours/week) COVERAGE DATES Start Date: 12/27/25 End Date: Ongoing PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults Patient Volume/Census: 1215 patients/day (varies by patient mix) Admissions: No (Outpatient only) Rounding: Not Included Phone Consults: TBD Case Mix: ~80% Oncology / ~20% Hematology Hematology Scope: Includes benign and malignant cases FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Office Equipment Available: TBD Specialty Backup Available: Interventional Radiology (handles most bone marrow procedures) Support Staff Available: 1 MD, 1 NP, additional nursing staff Reason for Coverage: Vacancy (until full-time hire) PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: No Credentialing Timeline: ~120 days Compliance Requirements: Immunization record, flu vaccine or declination, negative TB or QuantiFERON Gold test within 1 year of start COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Rate: TBD Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Bone marrow procedures is a plus (most handled by IR) JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active NY license (required) Board: Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology (required) Certifications: Flu vaccine or declination, negative TB/QuantiFERON Gold test within 1 year Experience: Outpatient Hematology/Oncology practice experience preferred Other Qualifications: Immunization record required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care for adults Manage patient caseload of 1215 patients/day Collaborate with onsite NP, nursing staff, and physician team Document encounters accurately in Epic EMR Perform or coordinate bone marrow procedures as appropriate 1669622EXPPLAT About Adelphi Locums Adelphi Locums, a brand of Adelphi Staffing, provides locum tenens staffing solutions for healthcare facilities across the U.S., connecting them with qualified physicians, advanced practitioners, and other medical professionals for temporary coverage needs.
