Position Summary:

Boulder City Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Unit Clerk / Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to join our Medical/Surgical Unit. This dual-role position combines the responsibilities of a CNA with essential unit clerk duties, supporting both direct patient care and administrative functions to ensure seamless unit operations and excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Certified Nurse Assistant:
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, ambulation, nutrition, toileting)
  • Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and families
  • Assist nursing staff with examinations, treatments, and vital signs
  • Maintain infection control and safety standards
  • Respond appropriately to patient needs and emergencies
As a Unit Clerk:
  • Maintain patient records and unit documentation accurately
  • Coordinate communication between nursing staff, physicians, and departments
  • Answer phones, route messages, and greet visitors
  • Transcribe physician orders and enter data into electronic health records
  • Support organization and coordination of unit operations
Qualifications:
  • Current CNA certification (Nevada)
  • 1-2 years of experience in Med/Surg, Rehab, Geri Psych, or Long-Term Care preferred
  • CPR certification (current or scheduled to complete)
  • Telemetry Certification
  • Strong understanding of emergency protocols and personal protective equipment
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-centered environment
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and hospital communication systems
  • This is a Safety Sensitive Position, requiring attention to personal and patient safety at all times
