Position Summary:
The Per Diem Float Registered Nurse provides skilled nursing care across multiple hospital units as needed, including Medical/Surgical, ER, Long-Term Care, Transitional Rehab, and Geriatric Behavioral Medicine. This role demands flexibility, clinical competence, and the ability to adapt quickly to different care settings and patient populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes promptly
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
- Provide patient and family education and emotional support
- Document nursing care accurately and timely in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital policies at all times
- Demonstrate flexibility by working across different hospital units as staffing needs require
- Current Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Minimum of 3 year of clinical nursing experience preferred in ER, Acute Care Setting, and Float
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred or required depending on unit assignment
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Adaptability to work varied shifts and different unit environments
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and assist patients as needed
- Ability to perform physical assessments and handle emergency situations
