Description
- Conduct evaluations for patients ranging across pediatric, adult, and older adult demographics using a combination of standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Design customized treatment plans tailored to meet both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver focused speech therapy sessions enhancing communication, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing abilities.
- Collaborate in an interdisciplinary way with fellow healthcare providers including physical therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to devise effective patient care strategies.
- Provide educational resources and training to patients and their families to support therapeutic progress beyond clinical visits.
- Provide support for occasional inpatient consultations and therapy interventions, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
- Maintain precise and prompt documentation consistent with state regulations and organizational policies.
- Continue to advance your professional skills and knowledge through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those who have not yet acquired ASHA certification.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary within 30 days of employment onset.
- Expertise in implementing evidence-supported interventions for a wide range of ages with a profound understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills essential for effective communication with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to modify treatment techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
