You will engage in outpatient therapies backed by the occasional inpatient services, tailoring your expertise to a diverse array of communication needs, whether in pediatric speech advancement, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatric speech therapy.

Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for children, adults, and seniors utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Create customized treatment plans targeting immediate therapy objectives and long-term communication or swallowing challenges.
  • Deliver one-on-one therapy sessions concentrating on speech, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to develop unified care plans.
  • Educate patients and families to enhance therapeutic progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient assessments and interventions to ensure consistent treatment throughout the patient's recovery path.
  • Keep precise and timely documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in ongoing learning opportunities to stay at the forefront of speech-language pathology advancements.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • BLS certification to be obtained within 30 days of starting.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all ages, with an emphasis on understanding both developmental and acquired communication disorders.
  • Exceptional communication skills with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary team members.
  • Ability to modify therapy techniques for cultural and linguistic diversity.
  • Strong judgment and analytical skills to troubleshoot clinical challenges.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
