Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for children, adults, and seniors utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create customized treatment plans targeting immediate therapy objectives and long-term communication or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver one-on-one therapy sessions concentrating on speech, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing rehabilitation.
- Collaborate seamlessly with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to develop unified care plans.
- Educate patients and families to enhance therapeutic progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient assessments and interventions to ensure consistent treatment throughout the patient's recovery path.
- Keep precise and timely documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Engage in ongoing learning opportunities to stay at the forefront of speech-language pathology advancements.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- BLS certification to be obtained within 30 days of starting.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all ages, with an emphasis on understanding both developmental and acquired communication disorders.
- Exceptional communication skills with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary team members.
- Ability to modify therapy techniques for cultural and linguistic diversity.
- Strong judgment and analytical skills to troubleshoot clinical challenges.
