Job Summary:
The Production Assembler II - 2nd shift works under supervision performing assigned assembly processes to manufacture Crane Aerospace & Electronics products in accordance with military and/or other assembly standards using visual aids, verbal and/or written instructions. In addition, the Assembler II - Production communicates with the manufacturing team and performs visual and dimensional inspection.

2:30pm - 10:00pm

New hires will start their employment on first shift for training purposes which is from 5:30am - 2:00pm for a few months. Once training is completed will then be transitioned into 2nd shift which the $2/hr. shift differential will be applied
Essential Functions:
-
Perform assigned assembly tasks
-
Prepare components prior to assembly, clean components, mark, and inspect components, subassemblies, or completed assemblies
-
Demonstrate proficiency in performing established operations within at least 2 area processes
-
Ability to ensure all paperwork is completed appropriately
-
Set up and operate assigned equipment and machinery
-
Observe proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicals
-
Identify and report to lead or supervisor any difficulty which would affect the correctness and quality of the work in process
-
Understand daily demand per Master Schedule Report for the cell(s) they are working in issues. Create IT, Facilities work orders, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for quality and material improvement
-
Participate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for concerns or issues and work with the Engineering group to implement solutions
-
Practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy; Proactively identify safety
-
Solving, and other initiatives as they arise
-
Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI's, Standard Work, Problem
-
Complete job-related company training courses as assigned
-
Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
-
Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

Non-Essential Functions:

Understand and/or participate with internal/external audits

Perform inventory cycle counts

May be required to repair/rework defective or returned assemblies
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Experience: 2-5 years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
-
Knowledge: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
-
Skills: Strong verbal and written communication; Proficiency in reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents) of the English language; Basic computer skills, e-mail etc. (understanding of basic software)

Abilities: Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required; Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; Adept hand eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness; Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams; Ability to work well in a moderate to high paced work environment in a high volume setting

Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent; Fine soldering certificate or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

IPC Soldering and/or Rework/Repair Certification
-
Experience maintaining equipment on a stringent calibration schedule
-
Designated Inspection certification
-
Ability to assist in the creation of sequence of operations and installation requirements based on review and understanding of drawings and oral instructions

Ability to perceive and pre-determine sequence of operations and installation requirements from sketches and oral instructions
Eligibility Requirement:

Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

Salary range: $23.83 - $30.56/hr. not including the $2/hr. shift differential. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
