Clinician (UC)

JCCA is seeking a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Clinician to be responsible for mental health assessments and provide ongoing counseling and crisis intervention services for clients within the Unaccompanied Children (UC) program. The Clinician will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to establish treatment goals and assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans.
Responsibilities:
- Provide weekly individual therapy sessions for assigned Unaccompanied Children (UC), utilizing trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches.
- Facilitate weekly group therapy sessions to promote emotional regulation, peer support, and social skill development.
- Complete and maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress notes in accordance with agency and federal requirements.
- Conduct ongoing clinical assessments to evaluate the needs, risks, and strengths of each youth, adjusting treatment goals as necessary.
- Contribute to the development and updates of Individual Service Plans (ISP) and participate in case reviews to ensure comprehensive care coordination.
- Accompany youth to immigration court hearings and support communication and coordination with Immigration Attorneys as needed.
- Collaborate with program staff to design and facilitate therapeutic and recreational activities that promote healing, resilience, and social engagement.
- Provide on-call crisis support during assigned rotations, ensuring immediate response to clinical or behavioral concerns.
- Assist Case Managers in locating and assessing potential sponsors, offering clinical insight to support safe and appropriate family reunification.
- Participate in monthly and quarterly staffing meetings with Federal Staff, the Case Coordination Team, and program leadership to review cases and program outcomes.
- Master's degree in social work or equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science degree; NYS clinical license highly preferred;
- Strong mental health background; proficient in mental health diagnoses.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, and requests simultaneously
- Proficient with MS Office with the ability to learn new technology platforms;
- Must have previous experience working with youth in a social services, residential or childcare agency or organization.
- Must be bilingual, English/Spanish
- Must be able to pass all required pre-employment screenings per ORR contractual agreement
Salary Range: $62,400 -$64,900 + differential for Spanish language skills and/or NYS license - LMSW or LCSW
