Lead Clinician

JCCA is seeking a Lead Clinician is responsible for the supervision of the clinicians and oversight of the clients within the Unaccompanied Children (UC) program. The Lead Clinician will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including; psychiatric, medical and case management team around meeting the clinical and mental health needs of the clients within the program. This individual will oversee and approve all assessments completed and ensure that the services that are being offered are in line with Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) requirements. They will also provide clinical guidance to not only clinicians but act as a consultant to various parties including Case Managers and outside entities in reference to clients within the program.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support and supervise clinicians with service delivery, documentation, and client-related issues.
- Provide direct therapeutic services to UC, including individual counseling sessions based on caseload and/or coverage needs.
- Ensure JCCA and ORR documentation practices and reporting requirements are being followed
- Participate in staff meetings with stakeholders and offer clinical feedback regarding client treatment needs.
- Performs initial intake and assessment for each new case; regularly assesses the safety and well-being of all UC
- Participate in data collection and review to evaluate individual and program success - set goals for improvement based on overall strategies and objectives.
- Provide crisis intervention and guidance to staff regarding clinical components of crisis intervention and treatment strategies.
- Oversee and provide trauma-informed, culturally relevant clinical services to UC.
- Provide weekly individual supervision to clinical staff while working to build a cohesive team and maintain positive staff morale.
- Review, approve and ensure timely submission of all direct reports and other relevant documents. Provide regular feedback to staff on reporting, including clinical depth and breadth of service and concrete clinical progress and goals.
- Attend meetings with the treatment team on a regularly scheduled basis; serve as team lead around mental health service delivery
- Responsible for interviewing and onboarding new clinical staff
- Stay up to date on treatment modalities, while also completing and coordinating training as required by funding sources by attending conferences and seminars.
- Participates in in-service training as required for professional growth and development. Attends external training workshops at the direction of management.
- Represents the organization both within and outside of the work environment in a manner that promotes the mission, vision, and values of the agency
- Ensure staff reporting of critical incidents in compliance with JCCA and ORR policy and procedure
- Respond to client emergencies within or outside work hours
- Master's degree in social work or equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science degree; LMSW or LCSW required
- Supervisory experience in direct service delivery with the ability to effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities.
- Must have at least five (5) years of progressive employment experience with a social services or childcare agency or organization.
- Must be bilingual, English/Spanish; other language skills may be acceptable depending on service population
- Must be able to pass all required pre-employment screenings per ORR contractual agreement
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and promote a positive working environment
- Strong people and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with very diverse groups of clients and staff
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, and requests simultaneously
- Demonstrated strong writing skills without grammatical errors; must have Strong verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated therapeutic and crisis intervention skills; ability to de-escalate situations with calmness, professionalism, sensitivity, and within ethical boundaries
- An understanding of the impacts of institutional and structural racism on the child welfare system and in disadvantaged communities
- Ability to plan, assign, and direct subordinate personnel in a manner conducive to productive performance
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams and clients that are culturally and professionally diverse.
- Proficient with MS Office with the ability to learn new technology platforms;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels of the organization;
- Prior experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations
- Knowledge or experience with Office of Refugee and Resettlement policies
Annual Salary: $ 70,000 - $80,000
